Lisa Sewell is the author of The Way Out (Alice James Books). She has received grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Leeway Foundation, the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. With Claudia Rankine, she is co-editor of American Poets in the 21st Century: The New Poetics (Wesleyan University Press). She teaches at Villanova University and lives in Philadelphia.
